What I'm Hearing

In what might have been one of the greatest moments of my recent life, tonight I figured out how to submit songs I listen to on my iPod to my last.fm user page. Now pretty much everything I ever listen to, with the exception of when I decide to get all old-fashioned and play a CD on my living-room stereo, will be submitted for public review and ridicule. It will also be used to match me up with folks with similar tastes on last.fm. Musical "neighbours", if you will, the closest of which for me is currently my former roomie Will Yates (of willyates.com fame).
The best part, though, is that what I'm listening to will be tracked. Even though I occasionally put on a tin-foil hat and worry about just how much of my life is on record somewhere- credit card purchases and all that- I really like being able to look back and see who my most-played artist is, what I've been listening to lately, etc. Now that my iPod listening goes up there instead of just what I hear on my computer, my life is one step closer to being complete(ly available for public view).
